Fully illustrated with dozens of examples from TV, radio, print and other media. A few samples: marketing history of patent medicines, airlines, fast food, automobiles and toys, racism in advertising and how the 1970s changed the advertising industry.  You do not have to have attended Part One to enjoy this course.

Instructors: Ron and Ellen Schon (schonad@gmail.com) spent 30 years in the advertising industry and lived to tell about it. They teach a series of courses for College for Seniors in a style that has been described as edu-tainment. Course subjects include: Stories of Western North Carolina’s Past; Crimes, Conflicts, Quirks and Other Mysteries of History; and An Illustrated History of Advertising.
