We will concentrate on the three basic crocheting skills of chain stitch, single crochet and double (and half-double) crochet. So that all participants are learning with the same materials, the instructor will initially supply hooks and practice yarn to each participant who will learn to follow basic pattern instructions and learn about different types of yarn and appropriate hooks. After that instruction and a few sessions of practice, participants themselves will purchase (or otherwise provide) yarn, and possibly hooks, for their final projects. During the last two sessions, students will work on their final projects while learning and experimenting with combination stitches. Materials fee: $7 for initial supply of hooks and yarn.
Instructors: Gracemarie Cirino (firstname.lastname@example.org) learned how to crochet when she was 19 and has made many afghans, hats, scarfs, pillows and sweaters throughout the years. Although she has more than 50 years of experience with the art of crocheting, she does not consider herself an expert, but enjoys sharing her knowledge and skills with others.
