In this course we will explore the classical yoga style of the Sivananda Lineage, a repetitious style that has five points of practice: proper breathing, relaxation, exercise, diet and positive thinking meditation. Each session will include this traditional routine, to some degree, with a special focus on different aspects of the five points of practice, mobility and flexibility, balance, and emotional awareness. This course is open to all levels.
Instructor: Wes Sparks attained his yoga teaching certification in 2006 at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Ranch in Woodbourne, New York. He holds the title of “Yoga Siromani” from The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre. In his class he encourages mindfulness: being aware of the breath, the body, the mind and the present moment.
