Helen, the most beautiful woman in the ancient world whose abduction caused the Trojan War: Who is she?  Queen of Sparta? Princess of Troy?  We will explore the image of Helen from the historical Mycenaean queen to her mythological beginnings and to her image and her legacy in Greek literature. Course outline

Instructor: Brenda Bryant (brendashamee@yahoo.com) has a doctorate in literature. She won an Excellence in Teaching award at Delgado College in New Orleans from which she retired after teaching for 25 years. As honors director and meritorious professor, Brenda taught Greek literature for the last 15 years and traveled with faculty and students to Greece.
