You’re always seeing acoustic musicians around Asheville, but what kind of music are they playing? Celtic, old-time, and bluegrass music all use many of the same instruments and sound somewhat alike, so how can you differentiate them? Through film, music examples, and live performances, this course will enhance your enjoyment of each genre.

Lewis Wills (lewisandkatie@charter.net) has a PhD in education from Georgia State University and an MA in folklore and mythology from UCLA. He also plays old-time and Irish music.
