Many of us are curious about poetry, but afraid to write it; a poetry class can be fun, uplifting, and entertaining.  Most importantly, you will feel comfortable and encouraged in a non-judgmental environment.  This relaxing day-long workshop will offer exercises that will be both playful and creative. We will engage the five senses with a “food” poem, have fun with a tattoo poem, real or fake.  (I bring fake tattoos that go on with water).  We’ll write poems on our favorite colors; we’ll write an “ode” with reference to Pablo Neruda’s ode on a watermelon.  We will share poems both comic and delightful, by poets Gerald Stern, Natasha Saje, Robert Hass and Billy Collins.  Join a warm and supportive group for a day of poetry. Participants should bring pen & paper.
