We’ll look at the book in the tradition of the American Dream; as a portrait of the United States in the 60s, 70s, and beyond; as a classic of post-modernism; and in the context of Roth’s other works. Required text: American Pastoral, Philip Roth, ISBN-10: 0375701427 or ISBN-13: 978-0375701429. Cost: $0.01--$12.14.
