It’s fun, demanding and satisfying to express yourself in paint. In this course for anyone who wants to create abstract paintings, we will focus on the elements of art using acrylic paint with various techniques while we explore the role of chance in painting. Come and discover your favorite painting techniques. No previous painting or drawing experience required. A description of techniques to be covered and materials needed TBA. Materials fee: $45, to be paid to the instructor at the first session.

Course Outline

Angelika Wagar (awagarart@gmail.com) received her Master of Art and Master of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University, Bachelor of Arts from Knox College, and completed an art major at the Art Institute of Chicago. Angelika is a national board certified (retired) art teacher and has taught several places including IBM Germany, Northern Illinois University, Ohio State University, Mars Hill College and most recently with Buncombe County Schools. Angie has exhibited widely and is in many North Carolina collections as well as at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Northern Illinois University, Asheville Art Museum and the North Carolina Museum of History.
