Aircraft carriers are the mightiest warships in service today! We begin at the beginning, over 100 years ago, and end with the latest of military aircraft carriers. Aircraft used for these platforms will be reviewed during the individual sessions. Mechanics of the carrier will be examined and discussed. People and specialists who crew the carrier will be covered, as will the leaders who brought the ships into being. We will examine the employment of the aircraft carrier as a major focus through peace and war.

Jim Tyson (jjimtyson@aol.com) is a career naval aviator and a graduate of the Navy's Test Pilot School. He commanded a carrier squadron and an attack carrier air wing during the Vietnam War.
