In this overview of lighthouses of the world and history of United States’ lighthouses, we will look at the life of a lighthouse keeper, the architecture and technical aspects of lighthouses such as lens and fog signals, and lighthouse administration. We will examine the creative re-use of light stations, lightships and minor aids to navigation, all told with humor, music and visuals. We will also spend time exploring the seven lighthouses that dot the coast of North Carolina.
