An emotionally stirring “woman's film” could bring a tear to the eye and a throb to the heart. Strong suffering female protagonists who surmounted their problems with sacrifice and bravery were portrayed by some of the finest actresses of the day who reigned supreme in Hollywood's 1930s and ‘40s. We’ll watch six of the best films of this era and discuss their stories and their treatment of women.
