Have you always wanted to paint but never thought you could? Through lecture, discussion and hands-on practice, we will use acrylic paint to explore color theory and various painting techniques. We will then use these techniques to create paintings on paper. This is an acrylic painting course for beginners only. Materials fee: $45, payable to instructor at first class. Participants must provide large paper (18x24") for mixed media. Instructor will provide acrylic paint, brushes and palettes. Materials list: TBA

Angelika Wagar (akawagar7@gmail.com) received her Master of Art and Master of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University, a Bachelor of Arts from Knox College, and completed an art major at the Art Institute of Chicago. Angelika is a national board certified (retired) art teacher and has taught several places including IBM Germany, Northern Illinois University, Ohio State University, Mars Hill University and most recently with Buncombe County Schools. She has exhibited widely and is in many North Carolina collections as well as at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Northern Illinois University, Asheville Art Museum and the North Carolina Museum of History.
