Reuter Center Singers

Performance groups comprise a unique component of community outreach.  The Reuter Center Singers serve as goodwill ambassadors at a variety of venues in Asheville and surrounding communities.  Their schedule includes a Fall and Spring Concert plus other community performances.

New Reuter Center Singers are always welcomed with no audition needed ever!  Come join the fun!

With 20 years as a singing organization, community and partnership have defined the Reuter Center Singers from the beginning.  A broad range of music to foster connections among members and the community-at-large has been performed from classical Mass/Requiem settings to Bach, the Beatles and beyond.  The Singers' very first season began an unbroken tradition of participating in civic events to engage the communities in which they live:  honoring our Veterans, installation of UNC Asheville leaders, memorializing our dead, and celebrating our achievements.  Music is a vehicle drawing us together and giving purpose, but singing to and with others completes the circle.

Directed by Chuck Taft, they study and perform classical, popular, show tunes and other favorites.  The Singers rehearse weekly on Monday evenings from 6:15-8:15 p.m. and perform regionally.  To participate, contact Kathie Nelson, 828.222.2220 or kwnelson@charter.net.  A fee of $50 is collected by the Singers for each term in August and January, and OLLI membership is required to participate.
